Building software modules that can learn from, and adapt to, a changing and unknown environment is a key challenge faced in many complex real-world problems. This unit covers a class of nature-inspired algorithms and structures for creating programs that demonstrate emergent adaptive and intelligent behaviours, including evolutionary algorithms, neural networks, machine learning and a swarm intelligence, contrasted against traditional optimisation techniques.
CITS4404 has 5 scored reviews: overall 3.4/5 (all out of 5; higher difficulty means harder).
Sources: 5 Reddit comments that an AI model judged to be reviewing this course (average would-recommend 3.4/5).
On Reddit: "CITS4402 - expect a lot of linear algebra and matrix stuff since it's used in estimating positions of points in images and pose of the camera (and yes you are expected to know these). Last year's project involved reconstructing a 3D scene based on a sequence of image, don't thin…"
On Reddit: "I only took 4402 and 4404 when I was at UWA. I would say the project of 4402 was a little bit hard. At that time, we did group project so if you can find good teammates, it would be much better. For 4404, others have explained it well, you can expect high marks if you work hard …"
