This unit introduces students to the cell biology, ecology, epidemiology, pathogenesis and diagnosis of fungi and parasitic protozoans and helminths. Where appropriate, the concepts of zoonosis, opportunistic parasitism and drug resistance as well as the vectors of transmission, are discussed.
